The word fitness is very vague as fitness is built up of many factors. The main ones include, general Fitness, aerobic fitness and specific fitness. General fitness is the ability to meet the demands of every day life. General fitness is closely liked with health related fitness and it has several components including Strength the force muscles exert when they contact. Body composition, the percentage of fat and lean tissue in your body. If you have too much fat, or too little fat, you are seen as being unfit. The definition of health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being. All three are closely linked with each other and by falling ill may well affect your mental and social well-being. Developing an awareness of the object through empathy with the object refers to the learner’s ability to identify with the object; empathy sometimes can be such that the learner feels like he/she’s the object. Equipped with this visual information, the learner can be more confident that his or her sense of perception will help him/her to solve a task with more flexibility. The teacher needs to guide, lead and direct the learner to develop this kind of awareness. This has made the businesses think in a different perspective and come up with such a kind of competitive strategy which is called as market orientation ( Choen, J 1975). The companies should have that competitive advantage over its other competitors as there a lot of chances for them to lose out on their customers if they do not come up with more competitive products (Bearden, 2005). These aspects could pose certain risks however food industry is directly linked to the consumers and any issues would impact the business of the industry directly. Task 3: Justified modification - Joint Venture This is based on the suitability of the product and the nature of the business. This is specific from project to project and it depends on the size of the project mainly. There are certain specific limits set by the projects or the partners involved in it. Most of the times partners exist in the project with a vision of producing various products for multiple purposes however they cant manage to produce them on their own. This requires the intervention of other sources that can create, design, implement and produce the products. For example this is most suitable for software products. In the current situation if we consider the food industry a joint venture is possible where they are establishing it in Asia and they require the intervention of the local Asian parties who can help in designing the products suitable for the Asian market. The organizational culture follows a strategy where it recognizes the efforts and contributions of the employees of the organization and it provides an understanding of how these results are to be achieved, the various ways in which they can align their objectives to their organizational objectives and how the employees can achieve their objectives. This concept emphasizes that the organizational culture could be a way of maintaining the employees in line and encouraging them to achieve the organizational objectives. The 3 parts of Adairs Action Centred Leadership Model have 3 main responsibilities like Achieving the task Managing the teams Managing the people This model has a great advantage which would guide the manager with his responsibilities like responsibilities of a manager to achieve the task and the responsibilities of a manager for the group like Identify the activity Identify the resources, people, processes, systems, skills and tools Create a plan to conduct the task which would include evaluation tools, timelines which are critical for the completion of the projects, strategy and policies which are to be implemented Decide on major factors like responsibilities of the team, organizational objectives, accountability and measures of the team Planning and Strategizing the standards, quality of work, time and reporting standards which are to be followed Monitor and maintain the overall performance plan Report on the progress which has been achieved for the groups objective Timely evaluation and review process of the plan and methods which are used to conduct different processes and work on any of the processes if the results are not effective In all these responsibilities the major factors which are critical for the leadership model are Planning Initiating Controlling Supporting Informing Evaluating The Action Centred Leadership Model is a model which has a method of managing and leading and this also includes a strong emphasis on applying the principles by using various methods. This model also promotes various situations which involve 2 people who can influence where 50% of motivation is in an individual and 50% of the motivation is from an external source. Information technology Information technology had a positive impact on all the automation and information aspects where it has offered immense benefits and has also offered a lot of growth perspectives to the people. There are various positive aspects which have provided immense learning opportunities for the employees and have also resulted in providing various tutorials which have benefitted the employee group to a major extent. Self directed tools have also come into effect which has offered great self learning opportunities to the people. Through this Employees have had a major access to the organizations which promoted a greater way of learning by customer information and by providing greater access to online information. It has provided them a great motivation in developing language skills and avoiding larger curriculums which can be avoided through a safe way of learning (Kathleen, 2011). Human Capital The five new jobs which have emerged in the last 5 years were much related to Marketing and Management like the Product aspects and the Management aspects. Understanding and managing gratitude and its role in building and maintaining reciprocity play a major role in effective relationship marketing. Grateful customers always come back with a lot of gratitude and the organizations should give them an opportunity to reciprocate after they receive an RM benefit (Narver, J 1990). There are a lot of researches which have been conducted and there are 3 main aspects which have been suggested in terms of relationship marketing like Engagement activities across various stages of relationship lifecycle ( Gronroos 1997; Sheth Parvatiyar 2000) The no. of stages and terminology are different in nature sometimes where even multiple stages are involved in it (Dwyer and Oh 1987; Wilson1995). The other critical aspect is the target or the scope of the relationship in the marketing activities where most of the activities are restricted to customer relationships and other relationships in the internal departments (Morgan and Hunt 1994) All these aspects open up a scope of relationship marketing practice to any target entity which seems appropriate. There are many recent researches which have been conducted in terms of managing customer relationships with parties other than customers in most of the cases (Rindfleisch and Moorman 2003; Sivadas and Dwyer 2000). Pricing is the most critical aspect of a marketing mix which can produce greater turnover of the organization. There are variable costs to produce a product and there is a cost involved to promote them. Pricing should support all these elements of a marketing mix (Business Balls, nd). These products can be divided into consumer products, commodity business, non - commodity business and sales. A reliability analysis can be conducted by taking various products from all these groups and can be tested on reliability and validity. The factors of reliability are for customer orientation and competitor orientation which enhance the relations to increase their sales. The long term objectives and the profit objective measures might be different because the products might not be meeting the demands of the customers (Business Balls, nd). Economies of sales which are generated by production a large mass of production will reduce the costs of production and contributes to creating large profits to the organization. The pricing strategies are based on the objectives an organization has like penetration pricing, skimming pricing, competition pricing, product line pricing, psychological pricing and other factors. The pricing strategies have their own ways of marketing like pricing on a low price and increasing the prices later, setting a higher price and then reducing the prices, setting prices by comparing with the competitors, prices which are different for various products and the psychology of prices. The pricing strategy which is most suitable for any type of an organization which could be based pricing. Optional pricing can also be a strategy for setting prices for various services which are provided by the charity they can sell optional services to maximize the turn over which the organization can produce. A business which increases its market orientation will be able to enhance its market performance. Researches have been conducted to prove this fact. Let us look at the advantages in implementing market orientation in an Organization. Some of those advantages are: Customer focus as the Organizations objective: Organizations who look at customers needs as their focus is always competitive in concentrating on newer innovations and newer strategies to satisfy their Customers. By doing this the Organizations would have more no. of satisfied customers who would be retained with their brand for a longer time (Kokemuller n.d.). A specific strategy: The Organizations should develop a specific strategy and plan to implement that strategy in an effective way. The Organization should also plan their vision and mission of their company and align all their Organizational objectives with the vision and mission of the company. Effective communication should be organized to explain all the advantages of their products to their Customers (Pearce, J . 1987). Advantages of Marketing: The Organizations should also market their products effectively implementing various kinds of strategies. Customer retention: Understanding the customers needs and satisfying their needs leads to customer retention and such customers retain with the same brand for a longer time. All these factors contribute to a lot of benefits for an Organization. After the kinds of marketing strategies and with the ways the companies plan to enter the market the next step of expanding the business would be the strategy of product. There are different models like product positioning strategy, product repositioning strategy, product scope strategy, product design strategy and any new business product strategy (Akkaya, n.d.) The first strategy involves product positioning which means introducing a product into the market in the right position so that it gets accepted in the market along with many products in the same category (Asikhia, 2011). The second strategy involves reviewing and revising any of the aspects of the product, marketing mix and looking for a new position for the product. This strategy helps a lot of businesses recover from its current position where they have a large scope to relook at the product and make any important changes to present it in an attractive way to the customers and the clients. In all these aspects Customer focus is more important than any other aspect of marketing. In the third strategy which is the product scope strategy, there could be many products involved in one company where the focus has to be on all the products, their improvements, their individual market competition and their sales. In the fourth strategy of product which the product design the company has to decide whether it can offer many products or one single product and whether it can customize the product depending on the Customers needs. There are many ways to enhance our self-awareness. Some of these include analyzing our own experiences, looking at ourselves through the eyes of others, self-disclosure, acquiring diverse experiences, and increasing our emotional intelligence (Fiveoclock, 2012). The self-analysis process should begin with reection on and exploration of thoughts and feelings associated with affective events. By reecting on these feelings and thoughts, individuals can obtain new perspectives relevant to their lives based on these learning experiences. From obtaining new knowledge and perspectives, individuals can become more effective by implementing new behavioral and cognitive changes in future situations (Col William, 2011). Thus, self-awareness is an essential skill for developing personally and professionally. If you have a high degree of self-awareness, youll be able to capitalize on your strengths and develop plans for improving or compensating for your limitations. Part of being self-aware is being able to monitor and change our behavior. By concentrating on self-improvement, we demonstrate to others our willingness to learn and grow through various external methods of learning like ICT and self - directed theories increasing the likelihood of being able to develop close relationships and success in a profession (Kathleen, 2012). There are various levels of employees in an organization and they have their own responsibilities where the employees would have to handle. In all these levels of the organization the employees would have their own objectives which they would like to achieve. When these employees try to work towards their own objectives which are aligned with the organizational objectives they would like to see a growth in their position. This would be possible if they get promoted to the higher levels in an organization (Development, n.d.). In order to achieve this they should adapt methods where they can implement a procedure in which they can test the adaptability of the employees to a new position or a new role in which they would have a lot of responsibilities to handle and this process can be called as the Ready Now as we have discussed earlier. This helps the employees at the next level to be prepared for the leadership positions. By implementing these methods the organizations would be able to find the potential employees who have all the essential skills to be filled in for the position (T.J. Allen, 1977). There are some factors which have to be considered before recruiting the cost which the organizations would incur with the recruitment and the cost which would also be included for the training cost of these employees. Option 3 As I sit here on this fine early morning in my rocking chair, wearing only a bath robe with a warm cup of tea in hand. My legs are crossed and I am looking off into the sweet blue early morning sky. I think about my past, I reminisce. I am 75 years old now, gray in the face, gray in the beard, and grey in the eyes. I now walk with a cane, and some say I am growing weaker but my mind has never been stronger. I think of a time when my hair was full and shined golden brown in the sunlight and I still had a raging fire in my eyes, I chuckle at myself as a boy. I was so na?ve. As a boy one day I would feel like I had the bull by the horns and the next I felt like life had chewed me up and spat me back out. Nonetheless I never gave up, there have been times that I have thought about it but I never did. I knew what I wanted out of my life and I would have done anything to do it. What I wanted, to some, may of seemed simple but to me it was a daunting task that no one could stop me from achi eving. I wanted to be a teacher. I wanted to teach English. But beyond having the title of a ?teacher? I wanted more than anything to influence and spark the imagination of young minds. I wanted to show my students the power of literature. Because the power of Literature is greater than that of anything else in our world. Literature gives you and me the power to be whatever we want to be in that very moment. One student could be a helpless romantic saving the girl of his dreams and stealing her breathe as he rescues her from an evil prince, while the kid next to him could be a brave worrier battling a flank of enemies from on top of his black stallion, with nothing but a sword and the honor of his country to defend. And I wanted to teach the world this even if it was by one single pupil at a time. I had a theory that it only takes one great mind to change the world. And maybe that great mind was not me, but maybe I could be the one to spark that great mind or idea. And I am proud t o sit here old, gray, and worn knowing that I did everything I could. I gave it my all. And I am quite sure that I did my job and completed my task. I now am a retired English professor, quite different than that na?ve boy with a full head of beautiful brown hair. I have a family now, a beautiful wife, and 2 lovely daughters. One married and has given me 2 of the most precious grandbabies a man could ask for with another one on the way. The other married and followed in the steps of her daddy, inspiring children. In my auto biography My Life as a Thinker and Teacher you will see my transformation from a young kid with nothing but an idea to a profound expert of Literary studies teaching college students and forming a beautiful family along the way.

Imagine a world where people helping their fellow human beings in distress, and going out of the way to help those in need without expectation of personal gain. Well if youre living in a big and mean city such as Sydney, New York or to that matter in any cities of this present world, it would be really really difficult for you to imagine this kind of world, on the other hand if you were from a rural background or from any of the collectivist cultures, where people have a sense of belongingness toward their society and feel that its their duty to help others without any self gain and due to various other factors discussed in the following essay about why its easier to bear witness to altruistic behaviour in rural places than in cities, imagining this kind of world would not that be that hard, if you were actually from a rural background. Defining altruism: A special form of helping behaviour, sometimes costly, that shows concern for fellow human beings and is performed without expectations of personal gain (Vaughan and Hogg, 2002). Altruism is a subcategory of helping behaviour, and refers to an act that is motivated by the desire to benefit another rather than oneself (Batson and Coke, 1981; Macaulay and Berkowitz, 1970). The term altruism comes from an Italian word altrui it was coined by a French philosopher Auguste Comte that meant self-sacrifice for the benefit for others Researchers usually refer to acts that benefit another person as prosocial behaviour, helping behaviour or altruistic behaviour, all though people use these three terms as synonyms these three terms are quite different and distinct. Prosocial behaviour refers to acts that are positively valued by society, Helping behaviour can be defined as an intentional act that benefits another living being or group whereas Altruism refers to an act that is motivated by the desire to benefit another rather than oneself. If you are living in a big city, chances are that you may rarely or never bear witness to or be part of these acts. If you were looking at any city of the world the typical characteristics you would note in a city would be huge population, fast and stressful life, high cost of living, long distances to travel, pollution and the most important factor is loss of sense of belongingness, most of the people living in a city would be originally from rural background and in search of better job avenues would have shifted to city few decades back and these people who constitute the majority of the city population dont have this feeling of belongingness, they dont really feel that they are a part of the society and hence whenever a situation arises where others require their assistance they usually turn there back and behave as if nothing happened. Its only during the 1950s social psychologist started doing research into helping behaviour and in the past few decades they have learned a great deal about prosocial and antisocial behaviour. Altruism and prosocial behaviour generated great interest among psychologists and general public and some of the following events provided major impetus to this research, these incidents which shook the major cities of the world such as Kitty Genovese Murder, where a young woman named Catherine Genovese also came to be known as Kitty Genovese who lived in Kew Gardens in the boroughs of Queens in NYC, was sexually molested and murdered in the most gruesome manner by a maniac right outside her apartment, the most disturbing fact was that it in spite of Kitty putting up a struggle for almost half-hour nobody came to her rescue, it took the maniac three attempts to kill her, during the first attempt the murder all most took to heals after Kitty raised an alarm, but the maniac noticed that nobody came to her rescue, this encouraged the maniac to attempt again and again and finally succeeded in sexually molesting and killing her, in that horrible half hour none of the neighbours of Kitty G enovese came to her rescue, several people in her building heard her screams, tenants only peeped at what was happening from the safety of their apartments, the maniac had selected the victim purely at random. The whole event had lasted for around 32 minutes and after about 40 minutes a neighbour of Catherine, named Karl Ross, who lived on the same floor as Catherine called the police only after consulting one of his friends from Nassau County, the cops arrived in two minutes but it was too late, the quickly found Catherines body in the hallway on the first floor. She had been stabbed 17 times. The next day when the police interviewed the areas residents, 38 people openly admitted to hearing the screaming, the had all the time to do something but failed to act, If any one of the 38 witnesses had simply called the police at the first sign of trouble, the victim could have survived, this particular tragic and horrific event received national media attention in America, all asking why none of the neighbours had helped? To which one of the neighbour answered, These things happen every day all over the world,. Similar incidents occur regularly in metropolitan cities, recently a video cameraman captured scenes of apathy among fellow travelers after a train ranover Mahendra Sonawanes left leg when he slipped from an overcrowded train on to the tracks. The 27-year-old lay there for 15 minutes before police arrived to lift him up and take him to hospital. I kept shouting out to people standing on the platform. I pleaded with them to lift me up and put me on the platform but no one listened, Mr Sonawane told BBC News Online. They all kept staring but didnt come to my help. (bbcnews. com, accessed on 8/04) In an another dreadful incident young Jayabala Ashar a college student in a metropolitan city, took a train to go to her college and was travelling in a womens compartment, a drug addict who boarded the train the moment it pulled out of the station, accosted her. When Jayabala courageously refused to give in to the ruffians demand to hand over her bag, he threw Jayabala off the train. She fell on the tracks and the train ran over her lower limbs, changing her life forever. What struck Jayabala the most, as she revealed later, was the indifference of the three women who were in the compartment when she was thrown off the train. Not only did these women not come to her rescue when she was trying to ward off the drug addict, they did not even raise an alarm when she was thrown off the train. As a result, an injured Jayabala was lying on the tracks for about an hour and people were just throwing buckets of water at her from houses nearby the railways tracks and during that dreadful hour and only later few women living in buildings near the tracks came to her rescue. (The Times Of India, Accessed on 8/04). Beginning in April of 1964, New York newspapers printed a series of stories highlighting the apathy and callousness of citizens of New York City. One story, which appeared on June 8 in The Daily News, told of a distraught man who was perched on a 10-story ledge of a Broadway office building. As police tried to talk the man down, a large crowd gathered in the street and chanted, Jump! Jump! When the man was finally pulled off the ledge, the crowd loudly booed the cops (crime libraries, accessed 08/04) But were people in big cities more apathetic, colder and indifferent than others in more rural environments? Or was the Kitty Genovese Syndrome, as some psychologists characterized it, indicative of society as a whole? The answer to this question can be given in the following way as cities keep growing everyday in both area and population enormously there are very few models, in sense individuals who exhibit Altruistic behavior and from whom others can learn to act pro-socially as stated in Vaughan and Hogg(2002) that Modeling is a tendency for a person to reproduce the actions, attitudes and emotional responses exhibited by a real life or symbolic model and due to stress full and a hectic life in a city there are very few models available, apart from this Vaughan and Hogg(2002) explains us about the social learning theory in which it is stated that human social behavior is not innate but learned from appropriate models, this makes it clear that unless the large cities produces models who exhibit pro-social behavior in large numbers situations like Kitty Genovese murder will keep occurring at regular intervals due to absence of appropriate models in large cities. The cities also exhibit the phenomenon called Bystander Effect. This theory speculates that as the number of bystanders increases, the likelihood of any one bystander helping another decreases. As a result, additional time will pass before anyone seeks outside help for a person in distress. Social psychology research supports the notion that Catherine Genovese had a better chance of survival if she had been attacked in the presence of just one witness. Due to huge population in big cities there is better chance of Bystanders Effect taking place there than anywhere else. Another hypothesis is something called the Diffusion of Responsibility. This is simply a decrease in the feeling of personal responsibility one feels when in the presence of many other people. The greater the number of bystanders, the less responsibility the individual feels. In cases where there are many people present during an emergency, it becomes much more likely that any one individual will simply do nothing. This is a hypothesized cause of the bystander effect. Also in big growing cities people tend to be less pro-social due to the fear of social blunders as given in Vaughan and Hogg(2002) that people dread of acting inappropriately or of making a foolish mistake witnessed by others. The desire to avoid ridicule inhibits effective responses to an emergency by members of a group. Would a situation like the Kitty Genovese murder occur in more collectivist cultures such as Singapore or Hong Kong? In collectivist cultures such as Singapore, Hong Kong, India and others, cases such as the Kitty Genovese murder almost never or rarely occur, this is due to the presence of strong cultural norms and due the ideas imbibed into its people that individuals fate depends on the group, group is responsible for its members, dependency is supported and due to the presence of strong cultural and social norms, Vaughan and Hogg define norms as attitudinal and behavioral uniformities that define group membership and differentiate between group(Vaughan and Hogg,2002). These cultural norms set clear cut guidelines about what behavior is expected or normal and what behavior is abnormal and almost all collectivist cultures have a norm that states that concerns for others is good and that selfishness is bad. The collectivist cultures go against the Bystander calculus model where people of that collectivist cultures never calculate the perceived costs and benefits of providing help compared with those that accrue for not helping. In a collectivist cultures personal costs of not helping is usually very high, and the individuals who tend to just be viewers and dont help the victims in distress can be subjected to criticism and experience extreme blame. Hence due to all the above reasons there is a major rural/urban difference in altruistic behaviours and attitudes.

Often a subject in anthropological and social studies, many definitions and view points about culture and national culture have evolved through the ages. â€Å"The term culture has various meanings, all derived from Latin meaning â€Å"which is cultivation of the soil.† (Jais, 27). Due to increasing diversity in the workplace, the concept of national culture has now become a part of business studies as well. A review of literature on the subject leads almost universally to the studies done by Professor Geert Hofstede on his studies on national identity in the workplace.
